Recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted, Bumpers Nursery is a warm and friendly setting with a caring, and dedicated staff team. Our childcare professionals work closely with all of our families to ensure every child has a fantastic experience whilst at nursery.

As a Great Place to Work, we have very low staff turnover and many of our staff have worked for us for over 10 years. Our team have a wealth of knowledge and offer a ‘home from home’ environment in which to care for your child.

We are proud to offer our unique Growing Programmes – a variety of carefully selected programmes including Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians.

Children are able to enjoy the outdoor learning areas in any weather, our Forest School is located onsite and run by our nursery team.

We are delighted to be in the Top 10 Recommended Nurseries on daynurseries.co.uk for East Midlands.

Nutrition

Our excellent nutritionally balanced menu is changed regularly to encourage a varied diet and is approved by the Childrens Food Trust. Here is an example of a typical menu.

Meet the Team

Claire Lloyd

Claire has worked at the nursery for 14 years. She holds an NNEB qualification and has 18 years’ experience in the childcare sector. Claire takes a keen interest in all areas of health and safety and is our Keeping Everyone Safe representative. Claire has two young sons and enjoys family days out with her two dogs. 


Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
