An Outstanding Nursery in Brentford

Brentford Nursery and Preschool is located close to Brentford High Street and close to Brentford Mainline Station with good links to London Waterloo.

Our fees include all meals and snacks plus branded nappies, wipes, cream, sun cream and formula baby milk as appropriate to ensure that transition from home to nursery is smooth.

We have an excellent nutritionally balanced menu where our Chef uses fresh ingredients and prepares and cooks on site enabling us to cater for all dietary requirements.

Children in the nursery are prepared to transition to school through our unique Ready for School Programme which includes our bespoke Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians programmes.

Children have access to an IPad, Laptop, Main computer and LED ewriter, with a dedicated ICT Champion who looks after all the children’s ICT needs.

Our Forest School also enables the children to extend their learning into the outdoors where they can grow their imaginations and explore the outdoor environment.

Meet the Team

Brentford Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Sumudu Dantanarayana

Having my own children encouraged me to gain my Diploma in Childcare which was enhanced by a Degree in Early Childhood Studies in 2014, has now given me over 18 years of experience in child care.

Born as a Sri Lankan Buddhist, I believe in giving young children a stable foundation to build a happy and healthy life style that opens the path to fulfilment. This belief allows me to lead my team with vision to ensure that the children are given the opportunity to thrive in a safe, happy and learning environment to become confident life long learners.

My career in childcare started in January 1990 and I joined Bright Horizons in 2004 as a Nursery Nurse. My qualification in NVQ Level 3 in 1989 in Children’s Learning and Care Development allowed me to step up the ladder to be involved in the management team which also encouraged me to complete further studies in NVQ level 4 in 2013.

It gives me great pleasure to meet the children and families when I come to nursery. I believe that as a happy and a dedicated team, we make big difference to the lives of children and families that come to Brentford Day Nursery and Preschool.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
