Asquith Slough Day Nursery

Asquith Slough Day Nursery

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Slough Day Nursery is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted following an inspection in October 2016.

Here at Slough Day Nursery just off Bath Road, we think of ourselves as a home from home. Our bespoke settling in period gives us the opportunity to become integrated within your child's world and work towards becoming one big Asquith family.

We also offer to visit you at home as part of this settling in period, which gives some less confident children the opportunity to build strong relationships with their Key Carer in the comfort of familiar surroundings.

The nursery is situated in a purpose built setting close to many businesses on the trading estate. We cater for many professional families and offer early drop-off and later pick up times to accommodate your morning commute.

As one of the leading nurseries in Slough we are well within the catchment of a number of local primary and infant schools, including Cippenham Infant, Cippenham Primary, Priory Primary, Our Lady of Peace Primary and Arbour Vale Primary, which is a specialist SEN school.

Our adventure garden is constantly evolving with the seasons and mirrors the children’s interests within the classroom. This includes a large climbing frame so children can explore different ways of moving, a 'mark-making' area with various writing tools and sizes of paper, a construction area with various sizes of bricks, soft foam bricks and connective balancing beams.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Slough day nursery. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

We look forward to the prospect of becoming part of your son or daughter’s journey through these early years and building firm foundations in their learning and key skills ready for their next steps at School.

Meet the Team

Jo Gawlik

Jo joined the childcare sector in 2013 after a career change. She has started as a nursery assistant, while completing her Level 3 qualification in Early Years and worked her way up in a short space of time to the Room Leader, Third in Charge and Deputy Manager in a busy 120 place setting. In order for Jo to broaden her knowledge and experience, she chose to join Asquith Family in May 2016 as an Assistant Manager, taking over as Acting Manager in December 2016. Jo is now aspiring to enrol on a Degree in Early Years.

Lucy Hines

Lucy joined the Asquith Family in April 2008 as a nursery assistant as part of the Nursery Room team. She has worked her way up to the Room Supervisor role, also completing her Level 3 Childcare qualification with us. In December 2016 Lucy was promoted to Acting Assistant Manager at Slough Day Nursery.
Lucy is currently studying for her level 4 qualification, as part of the Foundation Degree in Early Years.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
