Bright Horizons East Barnet Day Nursery and Preschool has donated goods from its recent Harvest festival collection to two good causes.
Ciara, who is the nursery manager at East Barnet Day Nursery and Preschool, explained:
“Both St Peter’s Church and the Poor Clare Monastery rely heavily on the kindness and willingness of others to donate what and when they can. The Sisters at Poor Clare Monastery have been ever so kind in paying a visit to us and supporting our education to the children around religion and faith. We wanted to give thanks for their efforts.
“St Peter’s Church Food Bank has been going for around 10 years now, ensuring support is there for the most vulnerable families. They provide food packages, as well as vouchers for specific items and their donations come from schools and nurseries, alongside support from local supermarkets too.
The work done at the Food Bank is so incredibly important and the impact it has is phenomenal. Having something such as this to fall back on is a life saver for many. We will continue to donate where and when we can! Our children learned a valuable lesson about spreading kindness and giving to those who are in need.”
St. Peter’s Church continues to be on the lookout for items such as tinned foods, dried goods (i.e., pasta or rice), hygiene items (i.e., toothpaste or bodywash), nappies, wipes, tea, coffee and sugar. If you would like to make and arrange a donation, simply call the church on 0208 449 1961.
