Bracknell nursery children take interest in bugs

Children at Bright Horizons Forest Park Bracknell Day Nursery and Preschool have recently taken an interest in bugs, after staff brought some in for observing.

The children used magnifying glasses to have a closer look at the bugs and spoke about both what they ate and what they needed in their little enclosure to make them feel safe.

“The children had a look around the garden for some twigs and leaves to put in the enclosure for the bugs to hide under,” said Nursery Manager Jemma Dove. “We also talked about different bugs and where they can be found.”

Children at Bright Horizons Forest Park Bracknell Day Nursery and Preschool have been enjoying a number of messy play sessions recently, using a variety of coloured paint on their tuff tray.

The children were given different mark making tools to practice their gross motor skills. They created prints with sponges and sweeping motions with brushes and rollers.

“This activity promotes language development by encouraging the children to decide what the mixture feels like,” said Nursery Manager Jemma Dove.
