Barrow-In-Furness children use shape maps with toy cars

Children at Bright Horizons Barrow Day Nursery and Preschool have been using shape maps when playing with toy cars.

The children worked together to carefully move their cars along the routes that were outlined in the shape maps, in an activity which helped to enhance their hand-eye coordination.

“They identified the different shapes used within the maps and concentrated hard to help guide their vehicle along the routes with superb hand-eye coordination,” said Nursery Manager Leanne Jackson.

Barrow-In-Furness children embrace role play through dolls

Children at Bright Horizons Barrow Day Nursery and Preschool have been embracing the use of dolls as part of their role plays recently.

The children used the baby dolls as they took part in a variety of activities to show that they were looking after the dolls.

“Our little ones have been enjoying lots of doll play which promotes helping, sharing and nurturing skills,” said Nursery Manager Leanne Jackson. “It's also a great way for children to express their feelings.”
