Lewisham children use story stones to aid communication development

Children at Bright Horizons Lewisham Day Nursery and Preschool have been actively using story stones, which are stones with characters painted on them.

The stones allow non-verbal or pre-writing children to create stories and narratives by combining and placing the pieces.

“Story stones are great teaching tools for developing children's communication skills, promoting their language skills and encouraging both their imagination and creativity,” said Nursery manager Sally Osborn.
