Crewe nursery children use candy canes for experiment

Children at Bright Horizons Crewe Day Nursery and Preschool recently used candy canes for a science experiment.

The children looked closely at what happened when they added vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and food colouring to the candy canes.

“We were so excited with the outcome, when we discovered that the colouring on the candy canes disappeared,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Nicola Harvey.

The activity was part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Scientists programme which aims to help children identify scientific activities which occur in their everyday lives.
