The children at Basingstoke Day Nursery and Preschool have been as busy as ever this week, learning about Chinese New Year, investigating ice and taking part in threading activities.
The threading activity was an excellent way for the children to enhance their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
“They enjoyed talking about the different colours and seeing what patterns they could make,” said Nursery Manager Nikki Paine.
“The children have also enjoyed a number of themed activities which included practicing some Chinese writing,” said Nikki.
That activity was also part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Writers enhancement which aims to support children on their magical journey in becoming creative writers.
The children have also been exploring a variety of different textures for the Growing Scientists programme. This included ice which they used their hands and the sensory skills that come with them to explore further.
“They enjoyed talking about the different colours and seeing what patterns they could make,” said Nikki.
Bright Horizons’ Growing Scientists programme aims to help children identify scientific activities that occur in their everyday lives.
