Church Crookham nursery children enhance cooking skills

Children at Bright Horizons Church Crookham Day Nursery and Preschool recently worked together to make their own shortbread.

The children first helped staff to measure the ingredients and then took the turns to mix the mixture with a big spoon.

“The children were all given some shortbread and they used their hands to create different shapes,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Shanice Hall. “The adults used this activity to promote hand washing and discussed kitchen safety with the children.”

Bright Horizons’ Creative Cooks enhancement aims to encourage creativity in cooking.
