Workplace Nursery in Middlesex nominated for prestigious award

Cisco Early Years Nursery and Preschool in Feltham, Middlesex has been shortlisted for the Business Development Award at this year’s Nursery World Awards.

The annual Nursery World Awards are open to everyone in childcare or early years education and aim to shine a light on the best practice within. This specific award recognises the new launch of or significant expansion to an early years service which has improved outcomes for children and families.

Cisco’s nursery, developed in partnership with Bright Horizons, is a purpose-built facility situated in the heart of the company’s campus at Bedfont Lakes. Brought to life in 2015 after a group of Cisco employees had the aim of providing high-quality childcare and education on-site, the nursery supports Cisco employees and families from the local community. It boasts three bespoke learning environments for children aged three months to five years, with each room having easy access to a large outdoor garden.

The nursery is Cisco’s third worldwide, with the networking equipment company also providing childcare to families at its headquarters in California and offices in Bangalore. The workplace nursery has enabled many families to return to work with peace of mind, knowing their children are only moments away, happily playing in an environment that enables them to flourish and grow, and it has supported recruitment, retention and engagement within the company.

Denise Priest, Director of Employer Partnerships at Bright Horizons, said, “We are delighted that Cisco Early Years Nursery and Preschool has been chosen by Nursery World for this wonderful award. The nursery and its team have become an integral part of Cisco and the local community, and it’s certainly an environment to be proud of – one that excites, engages and supports children and families alike.”

Louise Cook, HR manager at Cisco said, “Our working parents are important to us and we know it can be tough balancing work and family, so we want to make sure they have the support they need to help them be their best. Our on-site nursery and preschool plays a significant part in this and also highlights Cisco’s commitment to its working families.

Our strong partnership with Bright Horizons means that we are able to provide a fantastic experience for our employees and their children by sharing a joint vision of what we want that experience to feel like,” Cook said. “This translates into an outstanding facility and excellent care, as well as activities like parent training sessions and fun family activities.”

The 2016 Nursery World Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 24th September at The Brewery in London.
