Westferry Circus Day Nursery and Preschool

Why Children Love Us

Back-Up and Emergency Care Only

Westferry Circus Nursery provides high-quality emergency back-up care and holiday club care only. We are located within Columbus Courtyard on the Canary Wharf Complex (towards South Colonnade). Back-up care supports parents when their regular childcare arrangements are unavailable and reservations can be made here up to 35 days in advance.

Westferry Circus differs from a full day nursery as we don’t have a formal curriculum/routine in place – we’re here to fill your child’s day with exactly the kind of learning activities and play which they love! Upon first visiting the nursery, we’ll ask you to complete a daily routine sheet to help our practitioners learn more about your child’s preferences and routine.

We offer a range of fun and exciting activities for all ages - including trips to the Science Museum and our Forest School (on selected school holidays). Westferry Circus children also benefit from all of the exciting facilities available at our Columbus Courtyard Nursery - they can enjoy different sounds, lights and tactile toys in the Sensory Room, get energetic and jump around in the Bounce Room, or explore our enormous Play Room – an impressively sized space for fun and learning which includes ride-in cars, a Wendy House and a large sand-pit.

Meet the Team

Abraham Dartey-Zaffar

I started my career in education as a primary school teacher, then enrolled and qualified as Early Years Professional. I am have worked in childcare for nearly 8 years and have spent all this time working between the 4 Bright Horizons nurseries on the Canary Wharf; starting as a practitioner, through to EYFS Co-ordinator; then Deputy Manager and now Manager at the Westferry Circus.

My interests support the quality and deliverance within Early Years: Observation, Curriculum Development, Assessment and Planning.
I look forward to welcoming you into the Bright Horizons family.

Krissi Ganesathas

I have an NNEB & NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, and have been in childcare for over 15 years, starting my career in play work with children from 4 to 11 years old.

I soon developed a love for working with younger children and got the opportunity to work in day care, which has since been my passion.

Moving me further along to leading, which gives me the opportunity to share my experiences and lead teams to success, which I find very rewarding.

I love to watch young children develop and learn through play experiences that we provide, and knowing that we have such an important impact on their start in life.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
