Meet the Team

Sarah Johnston

I started working with children after I completed my level 2 in childcare at college, working with the 2-3 year olds and loved every second, it was this that led me to start my NVQ level 3 in Childcare. I completed this whilst still working, then following my completion I became a Room Leader for Preschool aged children. Although I enjoyed working with the 2 year olds I loved the Preschool, getting them ready for the next big stage in their lives, ‘big school’.

I then started my Advanced in Management Training which I undertook whilst working, being promoted to 3rd in charge during my studies.

I joined Bright Horizons Englefield Green Nursery and preschool in July 2015 as Deputy Manager, and then stepped up as Nursery Manager in June 2016. Since then I have loved working alongside all the rooms, and seeing the children develop and become confident each day.

Maria Dymock

I started working with children after leaving school and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have worked within all age groups and love my job, completing my Level 3 in Childcare whilst working within the 2-3 age group and shortly after I became a Room Supervisor.

The responsibility of leading a team as well as working with the children was very enjoyable which is when I decided to complete my Level 3 in Management and then my Advanced Diploma in Childcare. I joined Bright Horizons Englefield Green Nursery and Preschool in September 2017 as Deputy Manager after having my first baby. My passion for childcare has grown since having my own child as I like any parent I want the best for his development. I am enjoying working alongside the rooms and supporting the staff teams.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
