A Place to Grow

Westchester House is located in Farnham and has been developed in an exciting, new, purpose-built facility situated on Guildford Road - the last part of the Farnham Hospital redevelopment. No expense has been spared to ensure that every aspect of child development has been considered and incorporated into the design, which has taken three years to come to fruition.

Moreover, not only does the building provide children with the safest and yet most stimulating environment in which to develop, but it also reflects our total dedication to pursue excellence in environmental standards and adoption of our own stringent Green Policy.

We are now offering Half days and open from 7am -7 pm. We are also offering a free drop off  between 7am-7:30am and pick up between 6:30pm-7:00pm at no additional charge.

Meet the Team

Lesley Hurst

I originally started out in my career as an Accounts Clark/Credit Controller and then as I became a parent I decided to work within the childcare industry.  I starting out working in schools as a CA whilst my own children were younger and also worked for a short period of time in one of the local hospitals. I then deciding to qualify and move into children’s nurseries and since then 24 years on my career has been one of watching the wonders of how children learn and develop in confidence and independence knowing the staff around them care about their individual needs.  To watch a child achieve way beyond what they themselves expected is simply priceless, especially if the child has extra needs or additional needs and can achieve their goals and often more.  I was headhunted to work at Westchester when it opened 9 years ago and it has been a privilege to work alongside such an amazing team, all of whom are dedicated to the children and families in our care.  A team who constantly strive to better themselves and ensure we all give the best possible care and education to each and every child.  Year on year the feedback from locals schools is that the children leaving Westchester are so ‘School Ready’ they are already set up to succeed.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
