An outstanding, diverse nursery in Trafford

You and your child will love our Ofsted Outstanding nursery and preschool in Trafford, specifically designed to support your child's development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Your little one will get the very best start with our Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Designed by our Early Years specialists, the enriching curriculum focuses on children's wellbeing as the foundation to successful learning. Your child will benefit from having their own key person to support them throughout nursery and preschool to ensure they feel secure.

Our practitioners build on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum through a combination of exciting activities that nurture your child and help them to develop skills for school and beyond.

Learning About Diversity

We are lucky to be able to enjoy a culturally diverse environment with our staff speaking a variety of languages alongside English. Your child will learn about other parts of the world from the various languages, traditions and culture of our dedicated team of staff.

We work closely with Trafford SENAS to foster a spirit of inclusion for all children and are proud to hold a Trafford 'Giving Voice' award for our work in speech and language.

Getting Ready for school

Your child will be supported as a Growing reader, writer, mathematician, artist and more, through our Growing Enhancements and Ready for School programmes.

They'll especially enjoy the fun and popular Boogie Mites where they learn more about the world through music and song.

Outdoor Exploration

Your little explorer will enjoy freeflow access to their own outdoor decking space which will encourage independent exploration.

Garden activities include our maths and literacy shed, bikes and balance equipment, and our popular sandpit.

Ease and Convenience

Our nursery is conveniently set in the vibrant borough of Manchester.

  • Easily accessible from local bus routes with excellent transport links.
  • Onsite parking with a convenient buggy park to ease your drop-offs and pickups.
  • Your little one will love our nutritionally balanced meals prepared by our onsite chef.

Stay connected with our Bright Horizons Family app to see how your child is progressing.

Meet the Team

Emma Dunsmore Trafford Nursery Manager

Emma Dunsmore

I have successfully completed a BA HONS Degree in Early Childhood Studies and an Early Years Teacher Status.

I started working at Trafford in 2019. In the first year of being a manager, myself and the amazing team secured an Outstanding inspection so I am confident that we will continue to go from strength to strength.

I have a toddler myself who also attends the nursery and as a parent I fully understand how difficult it is to leave your baby with somebody new. I understand that your child is the most precious thing in the world to you and I want to reassure you that they are so precious to us too. Your child’s emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

At Trafford Nursery we are so blessed to be such a diverse nursery who celebrates culture and creates a warm welcome for everyone. There is a place for everyone at our nursery.

Jessica Gill Deputy Manager Trafford

Jessica Gill

I started working for kidsunlimited in 2009, working at our Manchester airport site as a unit co-ordinator. Throughout my 10 years working with the Bright Horizons family I have been fortunate enough to be supported in completing by BA Hons in Early years and Childhood Studies.

My career progression has been exciting as I have covered manager’s post on two occasions this was before I had my second child, I was then given the opportunity to take a slight pause in my career whilst my family was still growing, but was provided the balance of working part time supporting our sale site. This enabled me to support the management team in focusing on the delivery of Early Years.

As my eldest son in now in school I have the opportunity to cover a deputy manager’s maternity leave and supporting Emma in managing an outstanding setting here at Trafford. I have immersed myself in my role here at Trafford and thoroughly enjoy being part of this nursery family.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
