An Inviting, Homely Nursery in the Heart of Watford

The Park Day Nursery in Watford, close to Cassiobury Park, is specifically designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Our nursery features age-specific rooms with carefully picked resources to stimulate and engage your child. Babies benefit from three separate areas within their room, including a calming sensory space and a quiet sleep room. Our toddler room features exciting, educational activities and additional toilet training facilities. This allows us to support your child’s emerging independence and school readiness.

The Park nursery has a varied preschool room. Children can enjoy spacious areas for reading and cooking. Creativity is encouraged at our art station and sensory tables, and we have a dedicated science suite with an additional focus on maths and ICT. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond. Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

All children enjoy our large outdoor space, which has a climbing frame, raised flower boxes and a summerhouse. There is also plenty of shade to be had in the woodland nature garden.

We serve excellent, nutritionally balanced food, prepared daily by our own chef using fresh ingredients. Our Creative Cooks activities also aim to instil healthy food choices at a young age.

Our nursery in Watford is located within a ten minute walk from Watford train station. We are close enough to town to be convenient but with easy public transport access and our own car park.

We received a rating of Good from Ofsted in our latest report for our commitment to high quality childcare and education.

We would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

The Park Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Uma Patel

I have progressed in Early Years over the past 10 years, during this time I gained Level 3 in Child Care and continued my studies at Northampton University in Early Childhood Studies BA Hons.

I joined Bright Horizons The Park Day Nursery in September 2017, and I aim to build fantastic partnerships with families and join every child on their individual journey through their time with us.

I am an enthusiastic, positive and an approachable Manager who has a passion to make a difference to children’s lives.  I will continue my journey in Child Care and be a part of watching the children at The Park Day Nursery grow and blossom in to little people.

I have now been with Bright Horizons since September 2010 and I still love every minute of every day. To see the children develop from a baby into preschool and knowing you’ve had such a great impact on their lives is extremely rewarding.

I am very passionate about providing excellent care and education for our children at The Park. Ensuring all environments are enabling to get the most out of their development is paramount.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
