Request a call backI have been working in childcare for over 15 years and have enjoyed every moment of it. When I completed my BA Honours in Early Childhood Studies I progressed in to a Nursery Manager role in 2015. Since my progression, I have been very fortunate to become a part of Bright Horizons family in 2017 and shortly after I was able to work across multiple sites alongside having my very own Nursery. I continue to follow my passion in providing the best experience and opportunities to children and developing strong relationships with families.
I have been lucky enough to have worked in child care for 10 years; starting out at a private independent nursery where I completed an early year’s apprenticeship.
I then moved on to a deputy role in a preschool setting connected to a local school in Warwickshire - this was a great opportunity for me to develop on a professional level, and build also build a great foundation of knowledge to provide preschool education.
Due to family life I was able to work in a variety of nursery settings before settling at Stony Stratford. I started at Asquith Heathrow as third in charge and when the opportunity arose for the deputy role at Stony Stratford I knew the job was for me.
I wanted to continue my professional development, sharing all my knowledge and experience with the staff, children and families that we welcome here. I wouldn’t change this job for the world.
I have been at Stony Stratford Preschool and nursery for 10 years. I completed my level 3 in 2008 and worked my way up to Third in Charge. I have worked with all age groups within the nursery and enjoy watching children progress from inquisitive toddlers to confident pre-schoolers. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, I am a season ticket holder at our local football club, MK Dons.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
