An outstanding and spacious nursery in Swanscombe

Our bright and welcoming Swanscombe day nursery provides 'Outstanding' quality care to children aged 3 months to 5 years.

There is a dedicated cookery area, where your child can mix, whip and fold in our cooking club and your child will also love our large outdoor play area with free-flow access from every room. So no matter your child's age, they can move freely from the nursery to our sensory garden, playground or natural open space.

To support your child outside of regular nursery hours, we also have a breakfast, after school and holiday club for children aged 3 months to 8 years, where they can participate in a range of fun activities.

Our day nursery and preschool in Swanscombe is located just half a mile from Swanscombe town centre and Swanscombe Railway Station. We also have a buggy storage area and an on-site car park to make pick-up and drop-off as convenient for you as possible.

We are rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and our local parents recognise this by giving us a daynurseries score of 9.7/10 (as of January 2019).

Our long-standing staff would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Springfield Lodge Dartford Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Megan Jenkins

I have worked in Bright Horizons for 3 years now and have worked for 9 years in the childcare industry. I started as a nursery nurse working my way up through to room leader, third in charge, Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager, meaning I've experienced all roles within nursery life!

I love seeing the children grow, develop & achieve. It feels so rewarding to know that our team had a part to play in their lives.

I enjoy studying in my own time & recently achieved a Level 5 management degree. I enjoy socialising with friends and spending time with my family outside of work.

I have worked for Bright Horizons since 2013 and have worked in childcare since 2010. I started as a nursery nurse and have worked my way up through to room leader to Deputy Manager.

I love to see each individual child grow and excel through their journey with us at Bright Horizons Swanscombe. In my own time I enjoy taking my two little girls on woodland walks, exploring all the nature around us.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
