Sidcup Day Nursery and Preschool is based in a purpose-built setting within the David Lloyd Club. We offer a warm and friendly environment, which has been carefully designed to support your child’s education and development, from 3 months to 5 years.

All our rooms at our Sidcup nursery are well resourced with high-quality equipment and furniture, specially made by Community Playthings, with everything at a low level for all ages to access independently. Everything is designed with the children's ages and stages of development in mind, whilst providing further opportunities for children to grow and develop in a safe and nurturing environment.

As well as following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) we offer a Growing Enhancement programme, unique to Bright Horizons, which enables your child to enjoy a wealth of exciting, educational activities on their learning journey with us. Our enriching activities give every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to navigate subjects such as mathematics, art, reading and writing, and to thrive in school and beyond.

Children have freeflow access to their own outdoor area where we have plenty of themed spaces for children to improve their motor skills and expand their curiosity. Our all-weather garden has a planting area, creative zones and a numeracy area, as well as offering lots of physical fun on the climbing frame, slide and bikes. Your child will also love our mud kitchen, where they can enjoy being creative and let their imagination run wild. Babies have access to a soft grass area with age-appropriate resources and their very own tepee.

Preschool children have computer access enabling them to enjoy exploring technology. This develops their ICT skills, knowledge and understanding, whilst ensuring they learn how to use technology safely. We also make the most of the David Lloyd sports hall when possible, and provide the option of swimming lessons for the older children.

Our fantastic, long-serving team are kind, caring and enthusiastic, and are passionate about supporting the children to achieve their full potential. Ofsted have recognised our commitment to exceptional childcare and education, with a rating of ‘Good’ in their latest inspection.

We would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
