A bright and inspiring nursery in Romsey

Our purpose-built Yellow Dot Romsey Day Nursery and Preschool provides exceptional facilities in a safe and nurturing environment, supporting your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Each of our four rooms is mindfully designed to engage your child in age-appropriate learning. From vibrant sensory activities in the baby room, to creative construction areas and messy play activities in older rooms, there is something for every age and stage.

Romsey nursery enjoys beautiful garden spaces. Babies, who occupy the top floor, have their own rooftop garden for soft, safe outdoor exploration. Older children enjoy a spacious ground floor garden. This includes a big sandpit; mud kitchen for messy, imaginative play; raised planting beds and a large climbing frame with a fence and gate to keep smaller toddlers safe.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Our nursery in Romsey is located in the North of the town, close to Abbotswood and Crampmoor. Car parking and buggy storage are available for your convenience, and we are well served by bus routes. All-inclusive fees include all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes, giving you less to prepare in the morning.

Ofsted have recognised our commitment to high quality childcare, giving us a rating of Good in their latest report.

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Romsey Nursery Manager Harriet

Harriet Povey

I started working with Bright Horizons in September 2019 as a lead practitioner and now manage Bright Horizons Romsey. I am a qualified teacher and hold BA hons in teaching and learning support as well as having a foundation degree in Early years and Education.

I am a dedicated practitioner who uses many theorists approaches to learning, especially involving play and the importance of it in a child's learning and development. I run a happy and nurturing nursery and encourage good relationships with children and their families.

Romsey Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Sharon Hillier

I have worked for Bright Horizons for twenty years. During this time, I have been building my career from Nursery Assistant to Deputy Manager. I then I joined Romsey Nursery in July 2020. I am passionate about creating safe and stimulating environments for the children in our care and providing them with the right experiences and resources to see what they can achieve. I enjoy new challenges, meeting new families and forming good relationships with all children and parents.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
