Meet the Team

Sarah Burge

I have been with North Cheam since 2007. I began as a nursery nurse before becoming a Room Leader leading to Deputy Manager in 2012. In 2013 I become Nursery Manager.

I am passionate about providing a fully enabled environment for all children to develop fully in a safe secure setting. I regularly spend time in the units enjoying time spent observing and interacting with the children as well as observing and mentoring the staff.

I support my highly motivated team to challenge themselves whilst providing the highest quality experiences for the children in their care.

I am extremely committed to ensuring that the company vision of Keeping Everyone Safe  is evident within our culture of Behavioural Safety here at North Cheam.

Leianne Wickham

I have been part of the Bright Horizons family since 2016.

Initially starting as a Room Leader in one of our baby rooms, I supported my team to deliver high quality care and education. I soon progressed into a management role where I became an essential part of the senior management team.

I became a Deputy Manager in March 2018 and have recently moved to our North Cheam nursery as of September 2018.

I’ve made a great start in getting to know the children here and their families, making relationships with them and my new colleagues.

I have worked with children aged from birth to 5 years since being in the Early Years sector and began my childcare career in September 2007 working at a private Montessori nursery.

I am passionate about offering high quality childcare and education, working alongside Sarah the Nursery Manager to ensure that children’s developmental needs are supported and successful outcomes are achieved for our children and families.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
