A place to grow

Hyde Park Nursery and Preschool provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

We are delighted to have achieved an Outstanding at our latest Ofsted inspection

We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef. We have Hyde Park on our doorstep which we visit every day and the local library for regular visits. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

We provide all wipes, nappies, formula milk, food and activities fully inclusive of the fees.

We are located just 3 minutes' walk from Lancaster Gate tube station, 10-15 minutes minutes' walk to Paddington Station as well as major bus routes.

Meet the Team

Frances Poulastides Nursery Manager at Hyde Park Day Nursery and Preschool

Frances Poulastides

I have been with Bright Horizons since 2003 and have over 20 years' experience in childcare. I enjoy being with the children and creating a stimulating environment for them to develop and learn from. I maintain good relationships with the parents and within the nursery our we are always open to spending time with them should they need us. I am a Safeguarding Officer in the nursery and I lead the staff team by example. I am a mother of three grown up boys and have one grandchild aged 2 years old.

Over the years I have supported our Bright Horizons Foundation with lots of fundraising activities, as well as many other charities. I have also run the London marathon twice and a few others over the years.

I moved to Hyde park nursery in May 2018 and in the November we had our Ofsted inspection, in which we received an 'Outstanding'! Having only being in the nursery for 6 months at that time I would say this is my proudest moment and I was so happy for the staff team I work with as they all have worked very hard.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
