Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Our nursery setting is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30, for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef. We offer a range of extracurricular activities such as music, dance, sport, IT and cookery. Our highly qualified team helped us to secure a Good rating in our latest Ofsted inspection.

Meet the Team

Keely Fletcher

I am the Nursery Manager at Horseshoe Day Nursery and Preschool. I worked as a Nursery Nurse in 2 schools within Nursery and Reception. My journey bought me to Farnborough in 2001 and I then joined Hatton Hill Day Nurseries working at Nursery on the Green and Footsteps. I worked my way through the ranks from Preschool Room Manager to Nursery Manager. After completing my Foundation Degree I moved to Starfish Guildford as their Nursery Manager. I worked there for 6 and a half years before moving to Horseshoe in 2012.

Horseshoe is an amazing setting with fabulous outdoor learning environments. In my spare time I like to read, go to the Theatre and go horse riding.

Jim Jennings

I have been working in childcare since 1995, working in nursery settings since 1999. I started as a nursery nurse and have worked my way up Deputy Manager. In the years since I started I have been on many training courses, the latest being Forest School First Aid, to go with my Forest School level 3 which I am working towards. I have worked for Bright Horizons and their predecessors Casterbridge since 2010, starting at Churchfield House nursery in Weybridge before moving to Horseshoe in 2014. In my spare time I enjoy seeing friends and photography.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
