An inspiring and nurturing nursery in the University of Surrey

Bright Horizons Guildford Nursery and Preschool now provide childcare for families in and around Guildford as well as for staff, faculty and students of the University of Surrey. The nursery can be located just off Richard Meyjes Road with parent parking for drop off and pickups.

Newly refurbished and extended, the nursery has four main rooms, all with access to the large, all-weather outdoor space. All children can access the secure, well-resourced space and enjoy the resources and activities available to them. The children in the nursery are prepared to transition to school through our unique Ready for School Programme, which includes Bright Horizons bespoke Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians programmes.

Throughout the year, the nursery holds various events to encourage staff, parents and children to socialise. These include events such as our Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Picnic, Christmas Lunch and a visit from Santa. Stay and Play events are held regularly during the year.

The nursery has been awarded an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ for their commitment to high quality childcare and education.

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit with us today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Guildford Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Leah Dyer

I have worked for Bright Horizons for 6 years, my previous role was also in a client based nursery where I was the third in charge and room manager of the 2-5 years room.  I hold a level 6 qualification which I studied for while working alongside the children. As part of my studies I completed a research project on boy’s play which I found extremely interesting. One of my responsibilities within the nursery is SEND, supporting children with any additional needs for their learning.

In my spare time I like go clay pigeon shooting with my partner and watching the Formula 1.

Bright Horzons Guildford Deputy Manager

Lan Nguyen

I have worked in the childcare sector since qualified as an NNEB in 1985. I have worked in community nursery, local authority nursery as well as private nursery.

I have been working at Guildford nursery since we opened in 2006. I have worked with all the age groups and in many different roles such as Nursery Assistant, Lunch Cover, Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, Third in Charge and I’m currently Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover). During my time at the nursery I have gained my Foundation Degree, BA Honours and Early Years Education and Care and EYPS.

I have 2 teenage sons one of whom used to play for GB Ice Hockey Team up until recently. Therefore I have developed a special interest in Ice Hockey. In my spare time I love to binge on a really good Netflix Series and enjoy cooking for my family.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer.
