Watch your little one flourish at our nursery In Upminster

At Gaynes Park Day Nursery and Preschool, our team of experienced and nurturing staff are dedicated to providing children aged 3 months to 5 years with the very best care and education.

Rooms to Aid Development

Babies feel at home in our spacious and cosy baby room. You can feel reassured that our practitioners will follow the routine your baby has at home as closely as possible to help them settle. Mobile babies also have access to our bright Caterpillar room, which offers more opportunities to learn and play as they grow.

In our vibrant Butterfly room, older toddlers enjoy making new discoveries with messy play, construction activities and fun games. Their room also includes a toilet area to support them with their toilet training.

Preschoolers benefit from our Ready for School Programme and are taught by a qualified preschool teacher, ensuring they are fully prepared and confident to take their next steps.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions where they can learn about the world through music and song.

You can stay updated with your child's day through our Bright Horizons Family app.

Meet the Team

Gaynes Park Management team

Zoe Smith

I have been at Gaynes Park since 1997. I have worked my way through the leadership journey and became the Nursery Manager in 2011. Children make me smile and I love watching them learn and grow every day. My son was born in 2012 and he attended this Bright Horizons nursery before he transitioned to school in September 2016. Being a full time working parent can be challenging so I have a great understanding of our parents feelings when leaving their child in our care and knowing that they are safe and secure.

Sarah Knight

I have worked at Gaynes Park since 2016 and have been working in education and childcare since 2009 where I have gained experience in both Primary schools and nurseries. In 2012 I achieved my BA (Hons) Early Years Education degree and have worked within the Early Years sector ever since rising from Bank staff through to Deputy Manager. I am extremely passionate about providing exceptional care and education to the children in my care and am very proud when I help them to develop and achieve something new. My Daughter was born in 2020 and it has made me much more understanding of how difficult it can be for our parents and babies who are being apart from each other for the first time.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
