I have been working in childcare since I left school at 16 years old. I attended college to complete my NC and HNC in Early Education and Childcare and got a full time job as a practitioner at a local nursery in Elgin, I then completed my BA in Child and Youth Studies whilst working full time. After 5 years I decided it was time to move on and I relocated to Aberdeenshire for more experience and opportunities. I started my journey up the career ladder by becoming a senior member of staff, a room leader and then progressing on to becoming a Manager. I have been a Manager in a very large setting for the past 3 years and have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience and decided it was time to share my knowledge and experience elsewhere. I have two little children of my own and I am currently completing my final year of my BA in childhood practice.
I have over 10 years' experience working with children, especially 0-2 years. My favourite part of the job is seeing the children progress right through the setting up to pre-school age and then onto school. It is this progression with children that also ensures that I build great and fulfilling relationships with the parents of each child I get to care for.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
