In a Mumsnet survey of 131 users of Bright Horizons Nurseries: 82% would buy again and 85% would recommend
City Child Day Nursery and Preschool offers childcare and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years with a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery. Our highly qualified team helped us secure a Good rating in our latest Ofsted inspection.
Our nursery has bright and airy rooms with full length windows looking out into wildlife areas. The spacious outdoor garden, a bonus in a city centre setting, offers children the opportunity to extend their learning outdoors.
Alongside a range of carefully planned activities from quiet story time to role play, messy activities, singing and heuristic play, our children have access to a fantastic variety of extracurricular activities including Spanish, Song and Movement and Gardening and Cookery Club. These are all included in the fees. Our unique Ready for School Programme including Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians further prepares our children for their transition to school.
There are no hidden extras and our fees include all meals and snacks, branded nappies, wipes, creams and formula baby milk as appropriate.
Where possible we look to offer flexible booking patterns and a range of funding options, including the government's 30 hours funded childcare* provision. To request pricing and availability, please request a call back by clicking the button below.

I joined Bright Horizons as a room leader and quickly made my way up and was promoted to deputy manager helping to support and guide the team. I have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and I completed my course in Nursery Management in 2014.
I previously worked for a City of London nursery where I began as a nursery nurse, being promoted to room leader. After a few years years I joined Bright Horizons, supporting the baby room, helping new children and families settle into the nursery environment. Since being promoted to Deputy Manager I have gained many skills to help with my leadership role and managing the nursery in my manager’s absence.
I have always enjoyed being in the childcare field and the sense of achievement it brings when you see the children in your care happy, confident and learning new skills ready for their school years - just knowing that I have been an important part of their lives makes me feel very privileged and proud.
I am Portuguese but have been living in the UK for a long time and have been working in childcare for 10 years now. I have a keen interest in education with the ambition for innovation, quality and development within the early year’s sector and have a BSc Education degree, from the University of Southampton. I’ve always wanted to work with Bright Horizons, so I am very excited to start on the new adventure!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
