A charming and homely nursery in Chigwell

Our well-qualified team of highly motivated and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences, within a carefully planned curriculum. Our unique Ready for School programme fosters an enjoyment of early literacy and maths, with our Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians Enhancements helping children to recognise letters, words and numbers in their environment.

The children benefit with freeflow access to the garden, which gives them the chance to explore and extend their learning outdoors. The nursery is next to a large nature reserve that the children make the most of in all seasons for nature discovery, walks and picnics.

Safety is our number one priority. All our practitioners are First Aid trained and all nurseries have specialist SEND staff for children who require additional support due to special educational needs.

Our nursery in Chigwell is conveniently located just off Roding Lane, a 3-minute drive away from Chigwell Underground Station and a 10-minute walk from Buckhurst Hill Station.

The nursery has been awarded an Ofsted rating of 'Good' for their commitment to high quality childcare and education.

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit with us today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Ruhsan Karahasan

I began my journey in childcare 14 years ago after completing my CACHE Level 3 in Childcare and Education. Starting my career as a nursery nurse and working my way up over the years into management roles, I have been a nursery manager for the past 3 years.

I previously worked for Bright Horizons spending 7 years from 2009 at Shortlands, Bromley. After marrying and relocating to North London I took some time out on maternity leave and returned to Bright Horizons with my little boy joining the Chigwell team in January 2021.

I have a strong passion for providing outstanding care and education by coaching, motivating and supporting my team to do so, whilst building strong parent partnerships and working to create an environment where every child can thrive and meet their full potential.

Chelsi-Nicole Bailey

I have been with Bright Horizons since 2019 starting out as a senior nursery nurse at the Chigwell Valley Meadows setting. I quickly worked my way up to Third in Charge in 2020 and I have now recently taken on the role of Deputy Manager and setting SENCO here at our Chigwell setting.

I have 10 years' experience working in the Early Years sector where I started in 2012 whilst I undertook my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Studies, I then progressed onto further studies embarking on a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I am extremely passionate about supporting children's learning and development through the early years.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
