Watch your little one flourish and thrive at Chelmsford

With five spacious rooms dedicated to ages 3 months to 5 years, your little one will adore spending their days at our warm and enriching Chelmsford Day Nursery and Preschool.

The Best Resources for All Ages

We understand every child is unique and has their own way of doing things. This is why we'll work with you to make sure your child's individual needs are always met.

Little nappers will find the comfort and rest they need in their own dedicated sleep space, where we'll ensure their nap routine is the same as they have at home.

In our toddler room at Chelmsford Day Nursery and Preschool, your child's curious mind will be encouraged to follow their own interests and independence. Your little one will love having freeflow access to our bright and exciting garden, which they can explore at their own pace.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's development and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Taught by a qualified preschool teacher, your child will develop new key skills that will help them thrive in school and beyond.

Exciting Outdoor Spaces to Discover

Your child will love all there is to discover in our large outdoor gardens. These fun spaces have been designed for each age group and are used to provide opportunities to extend your little one's learning and development. At our nursery in Chelmsford, children aged 3-5 have their own outdoor classroom.

Freshly-Prepared Meals Made Onsite

Little foodies will be in heaven as they tuck into freshly-prepared meals and snacks, all lovingly made by our onsite chef. And to give you a break on those hectic mornings, essentials such as meals, nappies, wipes, nappy cream, sun cream, and formula are included in your fees.

A Convenient and Secure Location

Located in Chelmsford two miles from the town centre and close to Chelmsford station, our nursery is ideal for commuting parents. To make the nursery run as easy as possible, we have onsite parking and a buggy park.

Meet the Team

Hatch End Nursery Managers

Meggie Davis

I have been part of the Bright Horizons family since 2009, joining Chelmsford in 2019. I hold an NVQ Level 3 Qualification and thrive from creating a stimulating, enabling environment for our children to grow and develop to their best potential.

At Chelmsford, we as a team work together to ensure the children in our care are happy, safe and flourishing throughout their nursery experience. My own son also attends the nursery, I can see from his developmental journey as well as his smile everyday that my team are creating and delivering the highest standards of care as well as having his best interests at heart.

Epping nursery manager

Donna Shoat

I have worked for Bright Horizons since 2008 whilst studying for my level diploma in child development at Harlow College. I started as a student and worked my way up to Deputy Manager.

I have recently passed my level 2 mental health awareness qualification and level 2 counselling skills. I am extremely interested in furthering my career.

I thrive on achieving my goals and supporting and promoting our Nursery staff.

My passion lies in ensuring children in our care develop and flourish to their best abilities whilst supporting our families in our safe and secure environment.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
