Caterham The Laurels Day Nursery and Preschool is designed to support your child’s development, from the age of 3 months to 5 years.
We make use of the ample space at our nursery by creating separate indoor activity areas. This includes a Creative Cooks section, ICT suite and an ‘area of interest’. The theme of this area, designed to engage children in new ideas based on their interests, is chosen by a rotating preschool committee made of four children.
Alongside the curriculum, an enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond. Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.
Our nursery in Caterham has an expansive garden. Children can choose to play in the mud kitchen or settle down in the summer months with a book in the outdoor learning library. We even have a separate area for the use of bikes, scooters and tricycles.
Ofsted have recognised our efforts to deliver excellent care and education with a Good rating in their latest inspection.
Our Caterham nursery is situated in a leafy residential area, directly opposite Town End Recreation Ground where we take the children in Summer. We have a parent drop-off zone and parking facilities for your convenience, and are a twenty minute walk from Caterham Station.
We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you everything our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.
Where possible we look to offer flexible booking patterns and a range of funding options, including the government's 30 hours funded childcare* provision. To request pricing and availability, please request a call back by clicking the button below.

Since joining a small nursery setting back in 1999, I knew then that the Early Years sector was for me. Starting as an apprentice and working my way through qualifications I gained my NVQ 2/3 by the age of 18. As the years passed, I have become a Nursery Manager where my experiences and knowledge now help to support a nursery team to achieve and reach their full potential. I have since gone on to achieve my Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Education.
My previous experience has given me a strong ability to accept and meet challenges, enjoy responsibility and relish new situations. Throughout my years of working in different roles my primary focus has always been helping children reach their full potential and this is something that I wish to continue with.
I believe in creating a warm and exciting environment for children, staff and families. The best part of working with young children is witnessing first-hand how children grow and development. Knowing that you had an impact in supporting and nurturing them all individually and giving them the curiosity to learn.
During my time away from the nursery environment. I spend my days exploring country parks and unsuccessfully avoiding muddy puddles with my two Labradors, Buddy and Zuko.
From the first time I joined a the child care setting over 13 years ago I knew this would be a job I love doing...… and I was right.
I started off as a nursery assistant completing me level 3 in childcare. After working in various supporting roles I then decided to expand my knowledge and complete my Degree in Early Years Education.
Through my experiences of working in all roles up to a Deputy Manager I'm excited to be apart of a team that helps support, grow and develop each other. My main aim when I choose to be apart of a childcare family was to help and watch children learn, grow, develop and support my families. Sharing those all important milestones.
I like to offer a warm happy environment where all children staff and parents can enjoy new experiences, roles and have the opportunities to take on new challenges.
When I am not supporting the nursery I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, shopping and having cosy duvet days.
