A stimulating and inspiring Nursery in Cardiff

Situated in one of our client settings, Bright Horizons have partnered with the popular David Lloyd Leisure Club, the nursery welcomes all families in the area to the nursery and is located just off Newport road within 3 miles of the city centre, close to public transport and motorway links.

The nursery has two flexible, large open rooms to allow adaptability for all ages and stages of development.

Throughout the day, children can access the stunning garden to explore and make discoveries. The garden boasts a stage with an inbuilt sandpit, planting and growing beds for discovering the natural world and amazing mark-making boards for encouraging literacy skills.

Our free parking means that you are able to drop off and collect your child from the nursery quickly and easily. You do not need to be a member of David Lloyd to attend the nursery, and children have access to the Leisure Club and have supervised access to the tennis courts and dance studios during the day. As part of the Bright Horizons  family, we pride ourselves on providing safe, exciting and enjoyable children's nurseries where children thrive as they learn through individually planned activities and experiences.

Safety is our number one priority. All our practitioners are First Aid trained and all nurseries have specialist SEND staff for children who require additional support due to special educational needs.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Cardiff day nursery & preschool. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Meet the Team

Asquith Cardiff Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Laura Davies

I started working with the childcare industry in 2002 after qualifying with my level 3 in childcare and education. I joined the company in 2008 as a nursery nurse soon becoming the preschool leader, over the years I have progressed working my way up to third in charge and then became assistant manager in 2018. I am a positive and enthusiastic person who along with my team is proud of what we can achieve to provide the highest and outstanding care possible.

I have been working in childcare since leaving school in 2002. I studied for my BTEC National Diploma in Early Years Level 3 at college and qualified in 2004. I have worked in 4 different counties all over the UK and have carried out a variety of roles, from room leader to deputy nursery manager. I have a passion for childcare and thoroughly enjoy watching children learn, grow and develop over the years.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
