Bunnybrookes Day Nursery and Preschool is situated onsite at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and offers places to parents who work at the hospital as well as external parents. With a warm and welcoming feel, our nursery has been specifically designed to inspire your child and support their learning and development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Our Bunnybrookes nursery team is made up of caring and experienced professionals who are committed to personal development and include qualified Early Years teachers, giving your child the best start in life. All our staff are passionate and dedicated, many of them having been with us for over 10 years - one of our practitioners has reached 19 years and our chef has been cooking up healthy, nutritious meals here for 20 years!

We have five well-resourced rooms offering each age group their own specialised activities and equipment to support their learning and inspire their interests. Our large, recently refurbished outdoor play area encourages children to engage in fun and stimulating activities in all weathers. All children have access to our outside space where they can enjoy riding bikes, play in the sand and have stories read to them in our ‘magic story area’ under the willow arch shade.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond. We have partnered with the innovative and well-established Boogie Mites programme to bring the fun of music into the children’s learning.

Our nursery in Cambridge offers all-inclusive fees, including nappies, wipes, meals and more, making your morning preparation easier. All our food is cooked fresh at the nursery every day has been carefully planned with professional nutritionists and offers children many opportunities to experience different flavours.

Deborah Burgess

My name is Deborah. I am the deputy manager at Bunnybrookes. I have worked in the nursery since 2004. I started as a nursery assistant, completed my NVQ Level 3, became the preschool room leader, then started my role as deputy manager in 2010. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family- my husband and my 2 sons and my friends.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons
