Meet the Team

Asquith Bristol Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Claire Saunders

I have been working in the childcare industry for 14 years and part of the Bright Horizons family for 10 years.

I started off as a nursery practitioner in a small setting where I first developed my passion in providing excellent care and education for young children.

I thrive in getting the best outcomes of my team, and motivating them to go above and beyond in their jobs.

I am a positive and enthusiastic person who along with my team am proud of what we can achieve for the children. Having passion and dedication in developing an outstanding place to grow and develop in a caring loving environment is the most Important aspect of my job.

Asquith Bristol Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Louise Rowley

I have been a Deputy Manager at Asquith Bristol for 20 years, where I have developed my knowledge and experiences working and caring for the children. I enjoy working with the team helping them grow and develop.

I left work in 2015 to have my beautiful little girl who now attends the setting with me during the week. My daughter loves being at the nursery where she can grow and explore the amazing environments, building strong relationships with other children and her peers.

Within my 20 years in childcare I qualified NVQ Level 3, and achieved a Level 4 Diploma in Early years practice. I have gained more knowledge through various training, being able to develop my own personal development. Being a lead safeguarding officer in my role is also important to me, making sure the children are safe and happy.

I worked my way up from being a Nursery nurse to a Room supervisor then became a Deputy Manager, and have had to step up in my manager’s absences in the past.

I really enjoy teaching the team Makaton, which is used throughout the nursery to help develop the children’s communication skills. It is really important to me to see the children happy and excited to learn each day.

I thoroughly enjoy my job working alongside my manager and feel I am very lucky to work in a safe loving environment.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
