Battersea Day Nursery and Preschool is a purpose built children's nursery rated GOOD by Ofsted.

We pride ourselves in offering a home away from home oasis so that your child can settle with ease and be fully integrated into the family here at Battersea. The specially designed, spacious rooms are equipped with premium quality, age-appropriate furniture and resources made specifically for little learners. Babies benefit from a dedicated sleep room, which adjoins the baby room to allow for restful sleep.

Our secret garden comprises of a large climbing frame and sand pit, water feature, and a separate garden for our babies, which benefits from free flow from the main baby room. There are also dedicated outdoor learning areas for the children to maximise and mirror what goes on indoors.

The children love learning using our 'Growing programmes' we have introduced such as Growing Readers and Growing Scientists. This gives them the opportunity to extend their learning through everyday play.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Meet the Team

Battersea Andrea Bohmer

Andrea Bohmer

I have been working in early years for 11 years and joined Bright Horizons in 2017. I have experience with children from the age of 3 months to 7 years. I completed my Level 3 in Childcare and Education in 2007, before going on to achieve my BA (Hons) in Early Years Education.   I am passionate about ensuring that children get the best possible start in life and supporting them to reach their full potential now and in the future. I love watching the children develop and grow knowing that we have been able to support the children to get to where they are. I believe in creating an atmosphere where children feel challenged to learn and develop, and where staff feel happy to come to work. Diversity and equality are important to me and I encourage our children and their families to share their languages, cultures and festivals with us.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
