A place to grow

Our West Lea Park Day Nursery & Pre-School, which provides childcare services for children aged 3 months to 5 years, is situated in Tingley, close to Leeds, Wakefield and Morley. Our all-inclusive offering now includes all meals, wipes, nappies and creams for children.

We provide a friendly and welcoming feel to ensure the children feel safe and secure whilst in the care of our highly qualified staff team. The children learn and develop through the stimulating activities provided which offer a wide range of learning opportunities.

We have five spacious play rooms within the setting, the low-level furniture allows the children unrestricted access to our wide range of play resources and activities, and the play rooms are structured in such a way as to promote each child's independence, along with their decision-making and problem-solving skills. Each child’s key person builds strong bonds with their key children following their individual care routine and providing for their holistic needs.

The day nursery also provides support to children with special needs and liaises with external agencies to ensure appropriate support is given. We will be delighted to welcome you to West Lea Park Day Nursery & Pre-School.

Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Meet the Team

Name of person

Katy Watson

I have worked for the company since 2010, working my way from Room supervisor to Nursery Manager. I have been nursery manager at West Lea Park since January 2016.

In my spare time I enjoy working my dog over the fields near my house and spending time with family and friends.

I am interested in developing my knowledge of childcare and education and look out for any possible training courses I can do this with.

Name of person

Natalie Grundy

I have worked for the company since 2008, working my way from Supply Nursery Assistant to Assistant Manager.

I have 2 children who have both attended the nursery and thoroughly enjoyed their time at West Lea Park.

I am the nursery SENDCO, this is a passion of mine. I have attended numerous courses to help develop my knowledge and give the children the best possible care and education at nursery.

Name of person

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
