An inspiring and inviting nursery in Andover

Our spacious Yellow Dot Andover Day Nursery and Preschool has been mindfully designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

We have five large rooms filled with the best resources for each child’s age and stage. Whether that is a stimulating sensory area in the baby room, a messy play area, or a construction area to improve creative cognition, we take care to nurture the development of each individual child through fun and engaging means.

Outside, the nursery boasts a large garden. This is split into age groups to ensure our younger children can enjoy outdoor exploration in a safe environment. Older children benefit from a sand pit, climbing equipment, planting areas for gardening and a large mud kitchen.

Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Our nursery in Andover is just ten minutes’ walk from the town centre, with bus stops opposite and our own car park for convenient drop-offs. All-inclusive fees, which include all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes, give you less to prepare in the morning.

Ofsted have awarded us a rating of Good in their latest inspection, reflecting our passion to deliver high quality childcare and education in Andover.

We would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Nursery Manager at Andover Day Nursery and Preschool

Abbey Towsey

My name is Abbey Towsey and I am a Senior Manager for Bright Horizons located at Andover Day Nursery. I began my Bright Horizons journey as an Assistant Manager for Asquith in October 2014, based at Slough Day Nursery. I became the Manager in March 2016 and had out Ofsted inspection in October 2016 receiving our ‘Outstanding’ rating. 2 months after I moved to Thatcham Day Nursery as it was an independent acquisition, at which point we were acquired by Bright Horizons.

We had a wealth of new training opportunities, resources and 2 and a half years later we were proud to receive our ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted. As part of the Thatcham Management Team Charlene was my Deputy Manager. Together, we have now both moved over to Andover Day Nursery (formerly a Yellow Dot nursery). We are very excited to have joined such an enthusiastic and passionate team where it seems that the possibilities are endless!

My passions are the outdoors, forest school, strengths coaching and growing readers. In my spare time I like to explore the outdoors, be anywhere near the seaside, gardening, spend quality time with my family and friends and painting with oils.

Deputy Manager at Andover Day Nursery and Preschool

Charlene Walke

I have been with Bright Horizons for 8 years and came into the business as part of an independent acquisition at Thatcham, to which we worked our way to Outstanding. I have now been at Andover Day Nursery since June 2020 with my son who also attends. In my spare time I spend it with my boy, family and friends to go and see animals of all varieties.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
