Chocolate Malt Loaf


200g Self Raising Flour

40g Low Fat Cocoa Powder

40g Demerara Sugar

50g Dried Sultanas

30ml Golden Syrup

150ml Whole Milk


1.Preheat oven to 180­­°C/ 350°F / Gas Mark 4

2.Grease and line a 450g (1lb) loaf tin.

3. Sieve flour and mix in the cocoa, sugar and dried fruit.

4. Add syrup and enough milk to make a soft dropping consistency.

5. Turn into the prepared tin and smooth top and bake in preheated oven for 50 - 60 mins.
