How this supports knowledge and development:

Following recipes and cooking encourages children to be self- directed and independent, it also teaches them to follow directions and develop problemsolving skills. Fine motor skills and hand – eye coordination skills are developed through chopping, mixing, squeezing, and spreading. Why not ask your little one to design their own topping for the cupcakes using different ingredients. Ask them questions about why they have chosen certain ingredients and what it would look like.
