Bright Horizons Room Leader Programme
Date: 14 Oct 2019
Professional Development Consultant, Sue Aldridge, talks about her journey from Room Leader to her current position with Bright Horizons.
When my journey with Bright Horizons began as a Room Leader 11 years ago, quite young, not overly confident, very enthusiastic but most of all passionate for getting it right! 4 years later and lots of learning and growth, the words I never thought I’d say entered my mouth; “I want more”. Some may see this as more stress, more responsibility and why would I want more of that! I used to think like this too but something had changed. I grew confident and knowledgeable and I now saw this as an opportunity to personally and professionally grow, to inspire others and to create a shared vision for Excellence in Early Years. So I did it. I applied for those positions I once thought I would never want to do or have the skills to do and I was right I was ready for more and I was fortunate enough to be promoted to Deputy Manager within a different nursery and later secured a Nursery Manager position for one of our Client Nurseries. Each of my roles has brought new learning opportunities, challenge and courage. Now a Professional Development Consultant, I love to support my colleagues on their Professional Development journey, upskilling, coaching and preparing them for their future goals and aspirations.
I am excited to be leading on the Room Leader Programme 2020, where Room Leaders and aspiring Room Leaders can learn, grow and make a difference.
