My Bright Horizons Journey

Date: 14 Aug 2018

Molly joined Westchester House Nursery as a student in 2011, and this is her story: “Thanks to the whole team at Westchester House Nursery I am no longer the student that was quiet and kept herself to herself. I am now a confident Room Leader who is ready for anything and has a solid understanding of what is expected of me in my role.  I recently received the Inclusion Award at the Bright Horizons  Awards of Excellence Ceremony.  I was thrilled to receive this award as I am a big advocate for inclusion and I do everything in my power to make the children in my care feel welcome, included, valued and safe.  I even started to learn another language to help one of my key children with English as an additional language who found it difficult to communicate on occasions.

In 2012, I started working with the 1-2-year-olds and moved to toddlers room and then pre-school room. This was a great experience for working with all age groups. I spent two years working alongside one of our senior members of staff and I was able to further develop my confidence and knowledge and gain further necessary skills to help me in my future career. I also had the opportunity to be a key carer to a child with additional needs.  I met with the Early Years Support Officer and helped to devise specialised learning journeys for this child.  I found this very interesting and rewarding.”

Westchester House Nursery has been developed in an exciting, new, purpose-built facility situated on Guildford Road - the last part of the Farnham Hospital redevelopment. For latest job vacancies go to www.brighthorizons.co.uk/careers
