The scheme is currently available across 67 nurseries in South West London, Surrey, Oxford, Cambridge and the Manchester area with the intention to expand further across our 300 nurseries. So far we have covered 42,599 hours and employed 166 Bright Start nursery staff. “In order to appeal to experienced early years professionals and retain the talent in the current competitive market, we have truly aimed to embrace flexible working,” said Sue Mortimer, Bright Start Manager.
“We found that people are looking for a role that will fit around their increasingly complex lives. The time when jobs ran from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm are no longer the dominant way of working. Bright Start has allowed us to play a leading role in supporting our staff to find the right work/life fit.”
The success of the scheme has been mainly based on the fact that our Bright Start employees are fully trained to Bright Horizons standards and offered ongoing support and development, which ensures that the very highest quality of care and education has been delivered to our parents and children.
