The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children supports families suffering crisis and disadvantage, through our Bright Space programme. Bright Spaces are enriching play environments for vulnerable children located in domestic violence shelters, hospitals, homeless shelters, police stations and prisons, they provide a safe place for children to build caring relationships, heal from trauma through play and learn and develop. The Foundation continues to offer grants and awards to our employees to support charities that are important to them.
We celebrated the opening of a new Bright Space at Eve's domestic violence refuge in Northamptonshire on August 18th.
The Bright Space, which was designed by the children living at the refuge, has transformed the garden into an enriching and fun environment for play and relaxation. It includes new surfacing, a new sheltered seating area, a wooden climbing frame and slide, planters, flowers and plants, outdoor kitchen, water wall and lots of new toys and equipment.
In the coming weeks we will be opening Bright Spaces at Isleworth Crown Court, Brixton prison, Berkshire and Salisbury Women’s Refuges.
