The Bright Horizons Active Athletes learning approach creates opportunities for children to be regularly physically active during the day.
We hope helping the children to be active as a normal part of daily life will encourage them to establish a positive pattern of exercise for their whole lives.
NHS guidelines state that children under five who can walk unaided should be physically active every day for at least 180 minutes (three hours), spread throughout the day, indoors or out.
In addition, physical development is one of the specific areas within the Early Years Foundation Stage, which all our nurseries follow.Here are a few examples of Active Athletes activities we have developed for our children; try it at home for yourself too!
