Top 5 Sunday Movies For Kids
Date: 31 Mar 2016
But with so many films to choose from it can be hard to decide which ones will make the perfect Sunday movie. To give you some inspiration, we’ve provided you with our top five films to watch on a Sunday.
No doubt you’ve seen it one hundred times before already - but it is just the perfect Sunday film isn’t it? It’s got singing and snow and it is guaranteed to keep the little ones quiet for the duration. It’s also perfect for all ages so whether you’ve got a one-year-old or an eight-year-old, Frozen is great!
A family favourite, this film never gets old does it? Miss Trunchbull is a little scary but the magic of Matilda is sure to keep your children entertained on a Sunday evening. Why not make it a Matilda-themed day with pancakes for breakfast and a trip to the library?
3. The Jungle Book
It’s an oldie but a goodie! The Jungle Book is colourful, funny and it has plenty of songs you and the kids can dance around the living room to. See if your little ones can name the animals in the film too!
4. Toy Story (1, 2 and 3)
A Disney Pixar classic, the Toy Story trilogy is perfect for a Sunday afternoon. If they’ve not seen it already your children will love joining Woody and Buzz on their adventures, and if they are watching it again they are sure to get just as excited!
5. High School Musical
This is great if you have children who are a little older. It’s full of singing and dancing (you’ll find yourself singing along too) and there is guaranteed to be some laughter. And if you really like it, there’s High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3!
How to make your Sunday night movie even more exciting:
- Hot chocolate. This is such a Sunday night treat, especially in the winter (but it’s delicious all year round too). Complete with cream and marshmallows in your favourite mugs and enjoy while watching your movie. If your children are too young for a hot chocolate try warm milk and cookies.
- Making your own pizzas. So much easier than you think (you can get ready made dough if you’re not confident in making your own) and all you’ll need is some tomato puree, cheese and a selection of toppings! Make your pizzas and then eat them while you’re watching your Sunday movie. Perfect!
- Yoghurt and fruit sundaes. If you can’t have a sundae on Sunday then when can you? Instead of having ice cream why not try having a fruit and yoghurt Sunday? Let the kids choose their own fruit and yoghurt flavour and make your sundaes in fancy (but cheap) sundae glasses! It will taste as good as any restaurant!
