A place to grow

Bright Horizons' nursery in Highbury is a modern purpose-built day nursery within the redevelopment of the old Highbury Stadium, offering excellent commuter links.

The nursery boasts well-resourced rooms for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and two great outdoor areas for the children to explore. We are also in close proximity to a communal garden which was part of the old Arsenal football pitch and nature reserve for regular visits.

Our team of experienced childcare professionals work closely with parents and the nursery holds regular family events throughout the year.

A unique Ready for School Programme including Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians further prepares children for their transition to school. Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

Our fees include all meals and snacks, branded nappies, cream, bottles and formula baby milk as appropriate and we make drop off and pick up times as safe as possible with our convenient parent parking at the nursery.

I have been with Highbury since 2013, but I joined Kidsunlimited/Bright Horizons as a nursery nurse in 2006 and worked up to nursery manager in 2014.

I have a Bachelor degree in early years education and 20 years’ experience in child care.

I am very passionate about providing inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending the nursery and to maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment.

I always work with the HEART principles being honest, having respect, accountability and engaging with my team to achieve excellence.

Highbury Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Samantha James

I have been working in childcare for 10 years and hold a Childcare Level 3 Qualification. I have experience working with all age groups, I progressed from being a Nursery Nurse to Room Leader / third in charge and am now Deputy Manager at our beautiful Highbury nursery.

I provide the children with a safe, enabling environment and ensure every child has the best possible start in their educational life. I pride myself in providing a fun, safe place for children to express themselves. I believe that the relationship and communication with parents is key and have made great relationships with parents over the years.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling to exotic hot countries and experiencing different ways of life and socialising with friends.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
