Meet the Team

Epping nursery manager

Carole Byrne

I have been at Bright Horizons in Epping since 2011. I progressed from Nursery Nurse to Room Leader.  I took up the position of Deputy Manager in 2013 and then in 2014 became Nursery Manager.

Prior to my nursery career I worked in Primary School Education mostly in reception and Key Stage 1. I have attended University and took my B.A. in Education and went on to to gain my Early Year’s Teacher Status.

I am passionate about passing on my knowledge and training to help develop and upskill my staff, who in turn, I aim to inspire a love of using play to help children learn.

I have worked for Bright Horizons, Epping since 2008 whilst studying for my Level 3 Diploma in Child Development at Harlow College.
I started as a Student and worked during my holidays to support the team. Once I completed my Level 3 qualification, I became a permanent Nursery Nurse in Preschool. From this, I progressed to Room Supervisor, to Third in Charge and then promoted to Deputy Manager. I am extremely interested in furthering my career and I have recently passed my Level 2 Mental Health Awareness qualification. I thrive on being successful, achieving goals and supporting and promoting my employees wellbeing.
My passion lies in ensuring that the children in our care develop and flourish to their best abilities, whilst supporting our families through strong partnership. Also, making sure everyone is feeling happy and confident in a safe and secure environment.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
