A Place to Grow

Beacon Road Day Nursery (previously Zoom Nursery Beacon Road) is a babies and toddlers setting which joined the Bright Horizons family in 2018. We’ve built upon our great reputation locally to deliver some of the best early childcare in the area, having looked after hundreds of babies and toddlers since we opened in 2004.

We provide exceptional childcare for babies and toddlers aged 3 months to around 2 1/2 years. All age groups benefit from our extensive Growing Enhancements programmes to provide early learning and development before they move on to our other nursery at Maythorne Cottages, which provides the over 2s and Preschool provision. Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

All of our rooms are extremely well-equipped, featuring the latest in early years and educational equipment. We also have outdoor spaces which are appropriate for babies.

Our nursery is extremely secure and benefits from security systems upon entry, providing a safe environment for your child.

We’re well-placed for local commuter routes by train and bus and provide some of the most flexible start and finish times in the area. This gives our parents the peace of mind that we can accommodate their working patterns.

The building itself is all on one level, providing full accessibility to all rooms. It’s a bright, airy and engaging space which truly facilitates the best in early years care. We pride ourselves on our settling in sessions and can put together a plan for you and your family to ensure your baby is fully settled in advance of them starting with us.

Our staff team are qualified to a variety of levels, some having been with the nursery for a number of years and some who are starting out in their childcare careers. We have found that this mix of ages and genders within the team gives a great benefit to our children’s confidence and social development.

Please get in touch with us today to come and see the nursery for yourself, we would love to welcome you with some stay and play sessions so you can truly experience Bright Horizons Beacon Road with your child.

Beacon Road Baby Unit Third in Charge

Patricia Hehir

I was born in Ireland and I grew up in a small town called Hospital on the country of Limerick. All of my family live there including my 4 brothers and my parents. I moved to London in March 2015 to pursue my journey in childcare.

I joined Zoom in March 2015 as Senior Practitioner and worked in Zoom Brockley for the past two and a half years and joined Beacon Road in November 2017. I have worked in childcare for 11 years now and I have a Degree in Early Childhood and Education. I love working with all ages but babies are my area of expertise.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
