London nursery children raise money for charity with bake sale
Date: 18 Mar 2020
Children at Bright Horizons Stoke Newington Day Nursery and Preschool in London recently organised their own bake sale to raise money for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
The children were tasked with baking their own cakes in the science kitchen, assisted by staff, before they set up a stall to sell the cakes to parents and family members.
“The children and staff team had a lot of fun baking and selling their creations, along with putting their mathematics skills to the test with fundraising,” said Nursery Manager Gemma Allwright.
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
