Dorking children study work of famous artist

Date: 26 Mar 2020

Children at Bright Horizons Dorking Day Nursery and Preschool in Surrey have been studying the work of the famous artist Jackson Pollock.

The children have been created their own Jackson Pollock paintings after learning how to make marks on their paper with a drip or splash from a brush or pipette.

“The children used one colour at a time leaving each layer to dry before they used the next colour,” said Nursery Manager Becka Pinnells. “They then framed their art work before creating a gallery for the parents to see.”

The activity was part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Artists programme which encourages creativity in art.
