London children raise money for charity with family fun day
Date: 04 Oct 2019
Children and staff at Bright Horizons Beaufort Park Day Nursery and Preschool in London hosted a family fun day last weekend to raise money for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
The day included a raffle where a number of local businesses donated whilst activities included hook-a-duck, face painting and hair brading. A total of £212 was raised for the foundation.
“It was a really lovely event and great atmosphere,” said Nursery Manager Julienne Salamu. “We had both existing parents and those who have children due to start at nursery soon in attendance.”
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
